Supplement Review: Venettis Nutrition – Spyked

Every once awhile, a supplement comes along and you find yourself amazed by it. In a genre of supplements where every product looks the same, just with different labels, it’s great to finally find something that brings new meaning to the word: “Unique”.

Finally, something I have been aching to get my hands on for at least a few weeks now. It’s here.

There’s a very real chance that you haven’t heard of this Pre-workout yet. But you will soon. Today, we’ll be looking at the “upstart” to the Pre-Workout throne, Spyked. Hold on, this is going to be a bumpy ride.

Recently on Twitter, I discovered a brand new company, Venettis Nutrition. I was contacted by the company owner, Andrew Venettis, (big shout out) about if I’d be interested in trying one their products. I’ll be dead serious here, I was only expecting one of those little wimpy sample packets, where you can tell they want you to get just enough of a taste to be interested in buying, before finding out later that the product is a fail. So imagine my surprise when I discovered I actually received a full tub. Already, that tells you something about the company. But let’s continue.

There is only one review of this stuff online that I’ve found, here. So I am glad I get to be one of the first to look at this product. Let’s get into my favorite part: The mixing—

Beginning with the taste, I was glad that it wasn’t Fruit Punch. VN’s take on Lemon / Lime is actually very palatable. It was above average, I’d say, and only a hint of the sour you’d expect from a lemon. I really had to stop myself from going back for 2nds.

The label is clear, you have to build up to taking more than 1 scoop. I’ve told you before that I was very wary of products with 1,3 DMAA in it due to what happened after I took that OTHER pre-workout.  I had pretty much sworn the stuff off, but due to communicating with Andrew online who really seemed like an upfront kind of guy running an upfront kind of business, I gave it the benefit of the doubt.

I am so glad I did.

As usual, due to my schedule, I don’t normally get a chance to workout until later at night…as in around 9:00 p.m. By that time, due to spending all day sitting either at my desk or in my car, I was sore, moody, grouchy, and tired. I had every reason to go home, down a brew and call it a night. Instead, I popped this stuff. With most of the stuff I’ve been taking, it’s takes about 30 minutes to kick in.

This took about 15.

I can’t explain it, other than I felt rested and ready to go at the same time. I was alert and felt really giddy. I found myself cranking up music and mentally getting ready to hit the weights. I was fortunate because it was chest, back and biceps day. What I had been dreading only moments before was now a goal that I couldn’t start working on soon enough. I literally almost ripped off my dress shirt, trying to change my clothes too fast. Finally, I just said, “screw this!”, kept my t-shirt on, switched to shorts and literally ran to the weight area. My left shoulder had hurt me the week before. Didn’t matter. I killed Incline Bench. I killed lat pull downs. I killed about 4 variations of exercises using the E-Z Bar. I skipped flat bench, but instead used dumb bells, and actually lifted 15 pounds heavier than normal. The energy was clean. Most pre-workouts hit you with some insane amount of caffeine. You get lifted way, way high, have heart palpitations, then crash all the way to hell, with nothing but a nasty headache to remind you of your error.  The energy with Spkyed was different. It was steady. I was sustained through out all grueling 90 minutes, and still didn’t want to leave.  The pump was amazing. This product contains Creatine but you don’t get that “doughy” bloat that you get with other products. You feel and look strong. This is only the 2nd product I can find that delivers on that all important vascularity that bodybuilders crave. As far as price, you’re looking at $30 for a 45 serving container. If you’re like me and somewhat sensitive to stims, this could last a while. Comparable to Jack3D but because of the lack of crash, BETTER than Jack3D.

Of course, I took this at night time, so no, I didn’t sleep until the next day. BUT as a testament to the abilities of this supplement, the next day while at work, I still felt alert and found myself not really starting to miss sleep until very late in the afternoon, around maybe 4:00 p.m. It wasn’t that horrible kind of crash, where you find yourself out cold for 16 hrs. But more like a feeling that it was time to rest my body. I went home, took a 5 hour nap and you guessed it… right back at it again with Spyked for my leg workout.

I love something else about this product though as well. You know a company is doing something right when you can make your mind up on a product, and they come along, and change your mind. My words were along the lines of “You will never see another 1,3 DMAA product on this site again cause they are all the same.”

Andrew should have also sent me salt so that my words would have just a little bit more flavoring as I eat them. The mark of a forward thinking company doing all the right things for a consumer is when they can come along, and take what another company did wrong, improve upon it and make it into something you can’t live without. They did it right. They did me a solid. And they do it better than 1MR and Jack3d.

My goal is to stay connected to these guys, now.  From the Website, the vision from VN is clear, “Venettis Nutrition is a Sports Supplement company, created to promote a positive health and fitness experience for everyone.”

I’m here to tell you, Andrew, you succeeded.

I hope these guys get wide distribution. More people need to be aware that you can get good, affordable products, that are actually effective.  If what I can do is help get the word out, then I believe I’ll be doing that.
